About

Originally from Honduras, I currently reside in Valencia, Spain, where I'm in the third year of my Pathology residency program through MIR at Hospital La Fe. My background includes graduating as a Physician and working as a Family Medicine doctor back in my country. I'm actively involved in two research projects at HUiP La Fe. The first focuses on an OSNA-based method for sentinel lymph nodes in cervical and endometrial cancer, while the second explores a technique for retrieving fresh tissue for biobanking purposes in prostate cancer.

During my residency, I became intrigued by the behaviours of tumours that share morphological similarities. This curiosity led me to understand the significant molecular and morphological distinctions, leading to an interest in computational analyses. In adherence to the Spanish MIR specialist formation system, I searched for an external rotation and found an opportunity as an intern within the NKI computational pathology lab until April 30th, 2024.
